Want to listen to the ham bands in other parts of the world? “A WebSDR is a Software-Defined Radio receiver connected to the internet, allowing many listeners to listen and tune it simultaneously. SDR technology makes it possible that all listeners tune independently, and thus listen to different signals; this is in contrast to the many classical receivers that are already available via the internet.” Almost 200 sites around the world are listed along with their operating setup. You select the band, mode, filters etc and listen live. You can even check to see if your signal is making it to Brazil, Australia or even Texas!

Check it out at the link listed in the Member’s Favorites.

Enjoy and be sure to send me your favorite internet links.

About John Painter

My interest in amateur radio started in the 60's when I had a high school friend (Herman, N4CH) who I used to spend Saturday nights with talking and listening to the world in his shack. Alas we graduated h.s. and went off to different colleges and my interest in radio became subordinated to career, family and "life". Once I retired in 2006 I decided to pick it up again and wondered why I missed out on 40+ years. No regrets however, just happy to be here now! 73, John WB6V
